The bus, Marchwood Motorways,
leaves Friday 31 March at 10:00 am from Nuffield Theatre.
The Tenby fieldtrip needs to be carefully planned with respect to the
tides in the area, but also taking into account the Easter Holiday constraints.
The end result is clear: the TENBY 2006 fieldtrip takes place from
Friday 31 March until Friday 7 April. We have booked caravans in
“Kiln Park”, Tenby.

Caravan
cleaning !!!
Friday 7 April. Departures, late morning or
afternoon – NOT before!
We will NOT allow early departures on Friday. It is imperative
that evrybody helps with the cleaning-up of the caravans!!!! Hence, we
need EVERYBODY to be present on Friday 7th when staff comes round to inspect
the caravans.
Hence, you are to plan your exit from Kiln
Park on Friday 7 April, late morning or afternoon – NOT before!
Some words of caution:
It is absolutely essential that you bring PLENTY warm clothing, with
sound wind-breakers and/or waterproofs. Think in layers of clothing, as
you can then adapt what you wear to the prevailing conditions. Although
we are late in the year with the fieldtrip in 2005, it can still be very
wet, windy and cold, and you need to be well prepared for that.
It may be wise to bring a thermos for taking a warm drink into the
field, and gloves and a hat are essential. It may well be very cold (in
the past, we have had everything from rain, sleet, and snow to gales),
and we will be working in very exposed settings.
Your sleeping bag should be winter-quality.
It may be a good idea to bring one of those little folding umbrellas,
as they greatly facilitate writing in the field if it’s raining but not
too windy.
Take a PENCIL (or several) to write with, as they don’t wash out in
the wet.
Bring a tape-measure (standard B&Q one will do) - it's very useful
in the logging exercise!
Don’t forget to bring waterproof boots, as we’ll be working in wet
conditions all the time.
